Sun Tanning

Male Brazilian Waxing - The Basics

* The client will need to fully undress from the waist down, together with removing his underwear.

* Ideally, moist wipes will be left for the client to freshen up before the wax, and a towel in case, granted for the client to cover himself.

* The client should lie down flat on his stomach, so the therapist can start with his buttock area.

* Disposable vinyl gloves should be worn by the therapist for all male intimate waxing treatments and disposable spatulas used each time the spatula is dipped back into the wax pot. Following these processes will eliminate the spread of any bacteria or infection straight through 'double-dipping'.

* A compound of superior strip wax and new-generation non-strip wax should be used for a Brazilian male wax. Strip wax will be used on larger areas such as the buttocks, and non-strip wax on more intimate areas. Non-strip wax is kinder than approved strip wax because it sticks to the hair, not the skin and is thus convenient for particularly sensitive areas. It does not 'pull' as other waxes might, thereby minimising client discomfort, and it causes less breakages and damage to the hair which in turn reduces the risk of ingrown hairs.

Male Brazilian Waxing - The Treatment

* Sanitise the entire area to be waxed on this side (buttock cheeks and crack) with a cotton pad and convenient cleansing explication to remove any body lotion, dirt or perspiration.

* Apply a thin layer of a suitable, light-textured oil on the area to be waxed, e.g. On the buttock cheeks and between the crack. This will generate a barricade between the skin and the wax, reducing the whole of skin cells removed and causing less irritation and trauma to the skin. As well as pulling less on the skin (which hurts the client) it also means that the waxed area is not left sticky.

* Blot any excess oil with a tissue. Too much oil on the area will be counterproductive and will stop the wax from sticking.

* Using approved strip wax, apply to the buttocks with a clean disposable spatula in the direction of the hair increase and avoiding the crack area.

* remove using good-quality paper or fabric strips, pulling the skin taut and pulling the strip off in the opposite direction to which the wax was applied. As always when removing wax, work fast and firmly as any indecision or slowness at this point will cause the client some discomfort. Immediately afterwards, firmly place your hand over the area which has been waxed, retention it for a second or two. Applying pressure on this area will take away any immediate client pain or stinging.

* Once all hair has been removed from both buttocks, the client should use both hands to pull the buttock cheeks apart, exposing the butt crack. If he prefers and the therapist feels comfortable, the client can instead either kneel on all fours or kneel forward on his shins for this part of the treatment.

* Using a new disposable medium-sized spatula, apply some thin strips of non-strip wax to the crack area in the direction of the hair growth. The wax strip should be no longer than 4cm long, an inch wide and nearby 2mm thick. At the end of the wax strip, you need to generate a thicker 'lip' of nearby 4mm in thickness. This lip forms a cope which you can well hold on to in order to pull the wax off in the absence of a paper or fabric strip.

* Wait for the first wax strip to set. This should take no longer than 20 seconds if the wax was applied to the right consistency and is not too thick.

* retention the lip of the wax strip with one hand and pulling the surrounding skin taut with the other hand, pull the wax off the skin in the opposite direction of the hair growth, working fast and firmly as always. Apply pressure to the area for a second with your free hand to minimise any stinging.

* Once all the hair has been removed from the buttock and crack area, apply a small whole of after-wax gel mixed with oil to the waxed area to nourish, soothe and moisturise the skin.

* Turn the client over and repeat the cleansing process to sanitise the area nearby the perineum, scrotum, penis shaft and pubic area. Apply a thin layer of convenient oil to the entire area to be waxed, blotting off any excess oil with a tissue.

* Ask the client to hold his penis to the left. Bend the client's right leg in a right angle position and allow the thigh to relax.

* Still using the non-strip wax, apply the wax to the scrotum in some lines ensuring that each strip is no longer than 4cm long, an inch wide and nearby 2mm thick, apart from the end of the strip which should be 4mm thick. Strips should start at the leg crease where it meets the scrotum and lead into the centre of the scrotum.

* When the first wax strip is set, retention the lip of the first wax strip with one hand and pulling the surrounding skin taut with the other hand, pull the wax off the skin in the opposite direction of the hair growth, working fast and firmly. Any indecision or slowness here from the therapist will cause the client some discomfort. Repeat the process until all the hairs on the first side of the scrotum are removed.

* Ask the client to hold his penis to the opposite side and change the position of his legs so that the first leg is straight and relaxed and the second leg is bent out at a right angle, allowing the thigh to relax. Repeat the process of the scrotum waxing on the left hand side.

* Once the hairs are removed from both sides of the scrotum, ask the client to bend both legs out into a right angle with the his feet touching, forming a frogs legs position.

* Ask the client to hold both sides of the scrotum and pull it upwards, so as to stretch the skin in the middle. This allows the middle section of the scrotum to be waxed using the same formula as when waxing the sides of the scrotum.

* Once complete, check over the whole scrotum area ensuring the whole area has been waxed. Tweeze out any stray hairs with a sharp pair of tweezers to pick up hairs that are long adequate to be removed but not long adequate to be waxed out.

* To wax the penis shaft, the client must stretch his penis with his hands. This allows you to wax nearby the shaft of the penis in small sections applying the wax upwards in the direction of the hair increase and pulling off in the opposite direction.

* Finally, the front of the pubic bone can be waxed. Beginning on whichever side is easiest and using a medium-sized spatula, a thin layer of non-strip wax (no longer than 8cm long) should be applied in the direction of the hair increase and removed in the usual way. This process should be continued as far inwards as the client wants to take the wax, and then repeated on the other side. The end ensue will be a 'landing strip' to the client's desired width, or he prefers, another shape such as a triangle. Any stray hairs should be tweezed out.

*A small whole of after-wax gel mixed with oil can now be applied to the whole waxed area to soothe and nourish the skin.

Male Brazilian Waxing - Aftercare

* Allow 24 hours for the follicles to completely close and return to normal. Localised 'red dots' where the skin has been waxed are completely normal. This happens because each hair has its own blood provide and when the hair is taken from the root the blood provide rushes up to the surface. These red dots should gradually clear as the body cools down after the wax, although this may take slightly longer for clients with sensitive skin.

* Fake tans, massages, ultimate heat treatments (e.g. Very hot baths or showers, saunas, steam rooms), swimming, sunbathing (including sun beds or any other exposure to Uv light) or tight clothing should be avoided for 24-48 hours. It is also advisable to try and avoid practice for 24 hours as a build-up of sweat in the open hair follicles could cause unsightly spots. Do not scratch or touch the area with unwashed hands.

* Beginning from 48 hours after the wax, moisturise and exfoliate the waxed area commonly to reduce the risk of ingrown hairs, using convenient products that are not too heavily fragranced. If any irritation has occurred, clean cream can help. Dead sea salt used as bath salts can also help prevent infection as can anti-bacterial shower gels. Soothing lotions and gels, especially those containing products such as tea-tree oil, aloe vera and witch-hazel can also alleviate irritation.
