Even though he was not born with music in his blood, his love for it showed up quite early. When he was three years old, he observed a musician playing an accordion in a local shopping mall. He began to study under a music trainer named Tan Jianmin. One year later, he won the Chongqing Children's Accordion Competition, snagging first prize.
